Bathymetric Product Specification

The Bathymetric Product Specification (S-102) is the development of the TSMAD Working Group of the IHO (International Hydrographic Organisation) to encapsulate the BAG (Bathymetric Attributed Grid) within the S-100 framework, based on the ISO 191xx series of standards. S-102 is to become the standard in which Hydrographic Services will distribute their future bathymetric products (for navigation and other use).
The BAG is a global, non-proprietary, open source exchange format created to facilitate the processing and storage of large volume multibeam sonar data. It is developed by the Open Navigation Surface Working Group, implemented in software (libraries) like GDAL, FME and CARIS. They developed an API (Application Programming Interface) associated with it.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the University of New Brunswick, Naval Oceanographic Office at the Stennis Space Center and industry partners like CARIS and SevenCs contributed to the work of the ONSWG.

The S-10x standard on Maritime Boundaries Data Product Specification is being developed by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS), Office of Legal Affairs, Unitied Nations Secretariat assisted by the TSMAD Working Group of the IHO (International Hydrographic Organisation). The last public working draft was published in September 2009 (and is included in this message).
The product specification is intended to be used for encoding and exchanging maritime boundary information. The work is not completed yet (to my knowledge), but the parts that have been completed have been worked on by very relevant domain experts from the U.N.
