Previous Experience relevant for INSPIRE development Providing environmental information
Currently running projects related to information dissemination and awareness raising include the publishing of our quarterly magazine, the GreenHorizon, making a print newsletter and a website for the CABRI-Volga website and running a wide range of dissemination activities (e.g. promotional materials, training workshops) for a project about the www.ELTIS.org information portal.

Empowering others to share environmental information
In addition to research work and implementing demonstration projects, the “national environmental information systems in South Eastern Europe” project featured a series of training and consultation workshops. The “connecting networks” project attempted to empower others by publishing a resource directory of environmental software as well as hosting a multi-stakeholder consultation and training event.

Facilitating networking and cooperation
By supporting the electronic networking activities of South Eastern European environmental NGOs, the Balkan Bytes project helped cooperation by numerous tools, ranging from technical support through exchange programmes to joint content development. The REC’s series of contact directories (e.g. addresses of environmental experts, journalists, NGOs or information centers) also boost cross-border networking and cooperation.
