The information includes:

Description
SDIC Title Cross Border Cooperation
Acronym CBC
Details
Mission and Objectives While there is recognition of a wealth of experiences in successful spatial data related projects in individual European countries, a major opportunity is applying and extending these experiences in a cross-border context, with particular focus on CEE. COORDINATED activities for CEE are of particular relevance and importance because of the legacy of State control. Since 1989, progress in the various counties of CEE has been characterised by a substantial discrepancy of implementation among the countries involved due to the different levels of understanding of the benefits of spatial data. The SDIC will explore ways of enabling better interaction between public and private sector and increasing the involvement of the private sector in such initiatives. The SDIC will assess existing experiences in CEE Europe, best practice examples and major barriers for success. Special attention will be given to the management, organisational change and cultural issues.
Mandate Agreement in progress.
Formal Mandate None
Main Activities Working group, market analysis, busines planning and project management.
SDIC URL
Membership Initiated by the private sector and EUROGI.
