Mission and Objectives Development of spatial information systems and infrastructures to make spatial data more accessible and interoperable in Poland. Consolidation of Polish GI community and representing it towards national authorities, regional and local government entities and respective international organizations.
Mandate Polish Association for Spatial Information - PASI (Polskie Towarzystwo Informacji Przestrzennej - PTIP) is a national, interdisciplinary, self governing, not-for-profit association registered in Poland and acting as an umbrella organization. It has no formal mandate, however it cooperates closely with the Polish Government (Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Environment) and also with regional and local authorities.

Main Activities The main activities are as follows: a) supporting development and implementation of spatial information infrastructures in Poland, b)consultancy, c) research and development, d) formulating opinions and organizing public consultations, e) awareness raising and education. PASI actively communicates with the public (more than 10 000 visits to the PASI website a month).

Comments PASI organizes national conferences, workshops and seminars, the main themes include SDI and INSPIRE. It publishes ANNALS OF GEOMATICS. A special issue (Number 1, Vol. II) was dedicated to 10th EC GI&GIS Workshop, Warsaw 2004.
