Main Activities SSCRI (Výskumný ústav pôdoznalectva a ochrany pôdy) operates in many areas of agricultural and environmental problems. For the need of scientific, decision-making, projection and planning sphere on a national level, SSCRI provides Register of Slovak Soils (LPIS), comprehensive Soil Information System, Soil Conservation Service, internationally accredited laboratories, archive of soil maps and national archive of soil samples. Also SSCRI is a centre for Remote Sensing of Soil and Land in agriculture. Furthermore we serve as national centre for soil information system on agricultural land, administrator for several national soil databases and provider of thematic soil information in the sphere of agriculture and environment protection (protected soil areas, soil portal, soil monitoring).
