Main Activities Founded in 1936, the main tasks of the SGL today are divided between geotechnical aspects, mainly geotechnical studies for public works projects and geological hazards management and a more scientific aspects, which encompass geological and other geoscientific mapping and data distribution, public information related to earth sciences.
The SGL acts as a public service for various governmental bodies and local communities.
