INSPIRE DIRECTIVE
Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE) was published in the official Journal on the 25th April 2007. The INSPIRE Directive entered into force on the 15th May 2007

The Third INSPIRE Conference took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 15-19 June 2009, in conjunction with the Eleventh International Conference of the GSDI Association and the national conference on Dutch SDI: Results and Challenges.
June 23, 2009 INSPIRE Draft Regulation on Discovery and View services sent for scrutiny to Parliament The INSPIRE Draft Regulation on Discovery and View services, voted on in December, was sent for scrutiny to Parliament on the 17th June 2009. The full text can be found on the Comitology Register.June 11, 2009 INSPIRE committee approves IR for Data and Service Sharing The INSPIRE committee, during its last meeting on 5 June 2009, formally expressed by qualified majority its positive opinion on new INSPIRE Implementing Rules on the access to Member States spatial data and services by the Community institutions and bodies. The "Draft COMMISSION REGULATION implementing Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the access to spatial data sets and services by the Member States to the Community institutions and bodies under harmonised conditions", will be submitted to the European Parliament for scrutiny, and is now publicly available on the Comitology Register. Its adoption and publication on the Official Journal in all EU languages is expected by end 2009. June 11, 2009 COMMISSION DECISION regarding INSPIRE monitoring and reporting has been adopted COMMISSION DECISION of 5 June 2009 implementing Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards monitoring and reporting has been adopted. February 27, 2009 INSPIRE Transformation and Download Network Services Implementing Rules The INSPIRE Network Services Drafting Team has finalised the first publicly available draft Implementing Rules of the Transformation and Download Network Services. Their work is now available for public view and commenting from SDICs and LMOs as draft Implementing Rules. The draft Implementing Rules are complemented with Technical Guidelines providing more details for the implementation of the services. The consultation will end on 24 April 2009. |
